Model Stacy Fernandez shares her journey of getting ready for the Rip the Runway fashion show on Friday.

“This is nothing like last year. It’s not hectic, there’s no yelling, it’s weirdly calm,” said one of the girls doing hair and makeup.

“Calm?” I think. Nothing about this is calm, at least not for me.

Backstage isn’t what I expected. It’s not actually behind the stage, rather there is a set of stairs that leads to a room directly underneath the stage. This is where the real show is.

A student-run fashion show displayed garments based on various traditional cultures with a modern twist.

On Friday, the Rip the Runway fashion show transported students from central New York to a cultural oasis.

As the first model sliced through the red fog and stomped onto the catwalk, the audience fell silent. Bright colors poured out onto the runway as rhythmic drums pumped through the Goldstein Auditorium.

Fashion stops for no one, not even for rain. Juice Jam goers turned up the heat with these fashion forward looks on Sunday.

As much as it is about the music, Juice Jam is also about the experience.

And for many students, they wanted to look their sharpest.

With overcast skies, a light rain in the air and cool fall-like temperatures, the choice of attire was critical.

Check out the top looks snapped by our photographer Leslie Edwards.

Another fashion week has come and gone and as always it has left us with a vice grip on our credit card, and fingers hovering over the purchase button.

Flashback: 2013 brought us lethal yet fashionable spikes, high-waisted EVERYTHING, the dressy but casual button down, the return of the maxi dress and the revitalization of denim.

If you thought all of that awesome, you are going to love everything that 2014 has to offer and be crazy-ready for spring, just like us.

Anxious to escape monochrome winter fashion? Neons and bold black and white stripes are around the corner.

If you're like me, you are extremely impatient for warmer weather and sunny skies to start appearing. Along with better weather, I can't wait to ditch my unflattering black parka in exchange for jackets, sandals and t-shirts. It seems as thought the fashion world has heard my pleas for happier clothes, and it has responded by tossing in every bright, intense color imaginable in a storm of pinks, greens, reds and blues, and it's also throwing in some bold black and white stripes to the mix. Welcome to Spring 2013 ladies (and gentlemen, I suppose).
