The Syracuse women’s tennis team started off the Big East tournament weekend on a high note, beating the St. Johns Red Storm 4-0 before losing in round two to the University of South Florida, 4-1.

Winners of their last five, the Syracuse Orange are clicking at the right time. SU will look to continue its streak Thursday at 2 p.m. when it takes on the winner of the St. John's - Rutgers game Wednesday.

March is finally here. It’s the second season, when a single game’s outcome can determine if you will be forever cheered or jeered. March is all about the drama: single game eliminations, final possessions, and Christian Laettner-esque buzzer beaters.

Thursday afternoon (2:00 p.m. ESPN) the Orange will be starting their second season in the familiar confines of Madison Square Garden in the quarterfinals of the Big East Men’s Basketball Championship.

Syracuse used 47 free throw attempts to supplement a lackluster shooting night and make just enough plays to hold off Rutgers in overtime Saturday, 84-80.

On the way to the Carrier Dome Saturday, 28,944 fans endured the freezing temperatures outside, most expecting to see Syracuse grab another Big East win. But instead they got a chance to witness an overtime thriller.

After breaking its losing streak with a comeback win over West Virginia Monday, Syracuse hopes to win its 11th consecutive game against Rutgers when the Orange host the Scarlet Knights Saturday.

Saturday Syracuse will welcome the Rutgers into the Carrier Dome. The Orange will be looking to extend their winning streak against the Scarlet Knight’s to 11 straight.

Ross Krautman's 24-yard field goal pushed the Orange past Rutgers and helped Syracuse pick up its seventh win of the season to become bowl eligible.

Add another game to Syracuse’s schedule. SU kept its conference road record unblemished and became bowl eligible for the first time since 2004 as they beat Rutgers Saturday, 13-10.

Freshman kicker Ross Krautman connected on two field goals – a career-long 48 yarder and a go-ahead 24 yarder with 1:07 to play to guarantee the Orange a winning season and keep them in the hunt for the conference title. Going into the game Krautman – a New Jersey native – was excited about the possibility of kicking a game-winning field goal in his home state.

With a number one ranking on the line, Syracuse gets its eighth straight win behind a career performance from Chris Daniello and a strong effort from a stingy defense.

After a thrilling last second win against CNY rival Cornell University on Tuesday night, the Syracuse Men’s Lacrosse Team (10-1, 3-0) looked to stay on track as they got into the meat of the Big East schedule against Rutgers University (5-6, 1-2) on Sunday night at Yurcak Field in Piscataway, N.J.

Stifling Orange defense thwarts the Scarlet Knights in Piscataway.

On the heels of an overtime loss to Cincinnati, the Syracuse women's basketball team felt the pressure of falling out of the tournament picture.

Riding a two-game losing skid and having lost 6 of its last 9, the Orange needed a lift.

A defensive-aided takedown worked instead.

Erica Morrow poured in 17 and Nicole Michael added 14 points and 11 boards as Syracuse steamrolled the Rutgers Scarlet Knights at the Louis Brown Athletic Center 76-45. The win improves the Orange to 19-7 overall and 6-7 in the Big East.
