For Thanksgiving, we create our own food-centric playlist to soundtrack your family culinary adventures.

The Thanksgiving holiday occupies that hungry space equidistant between Halloween and Christmas, the other two days reserved for overindulging in caloric excess. Those two tend to be sweeter (full of candy and cookies), while Turkey Day falls squarely into savory territory, notwithstanding a little cranberry sauce on the side, and, OK, pumpkin pie too.

While the unstoppable Christmas machine may already be in motion, it's never too late to stop and remember a holliday that doesn't get many decorations or FM air time: Thanksgiving. Local music critics Josh Breeden (pop) and Leah Harrison (classical) serve up their favorite spooky soundtracks, both classical and popular. You won’t find the famous organ "Toccata and Fugue" or the "Monster Mash" on this list, but instead some eerie choices that would make both Bach and Bobby Pickett’s hair stand on end.
