Graduate student Luke Blum creates the "S" now hanging in Schine at a pancake breakfast last year.

Inspiration struck Luke Blum, a graduate student in Syracuse University's School of Education, in an unusual way last year. The result -- a piece of artwork featuring an orange Syracuse "S" -- now hangs in Schine Student Center.

The competitive, contact sport of dodgeball brings spirit to Syracuse University’s Flanagan Gym

With forest green paint streaked across their faces and hot pink and neon green socks pulled up to their knees, student teams filing into Flanagan Gym’s dodgeball tournament looked nothing short of The Average Joes.

You might not know that there are so many exciting, funny and unusual things happening on and off campus at night.

Besides staying at home, students can spend their time taking in social events, participating in creative activities and even working part-time jobs.

We found stories that show a different side of students’ nightlife at Syracuse University. SU is a place where students not only go to classes and gain knowledge, but also is a place full of energy, laughter, creation and entertainment.

Orange After Dark programs hosted off campus let students have fun on weekend nights without spending a lot of money.

Orange After Dark is late-night programming that offers healthy, safe, and fun events for students on weekend nights. Originally started by the Office of Residence Life at Syracuse University in 2010, the Orange After Dark committee was formed to create alternative programming for a low price in order to make it accessible to the greatest number of students.

Even without any Situation or Snooki lookalikes, an alcohol-free, "Jersey Shore"-themed party sponsored by Orange After Dark draws a small crowd to the dance floor.

Brightly colored glow sticks, plastic sunglasses and blue bubble chairs were just a small part of the event hosted Sunday at Goldstein Auditorium. Syracuse University students danced the night away at the Orange After Dark sponsored event, “On The Floor” at the "Jersey Shore" Dance Party.
