Cometti, Marasco rally Orange by Rutgers

Seniors Luke Cometti and JoJo Marasco helped the Orange outscore Rutgers, 7-1 in the fourth quarter for a 12-11 victory.

For three and a half quarters, it looked like a classic trap game.

No. 7 Syracuse (9-2, 3-1 Big East) was being outhustled, outmanned and outscored by two-win Rutgers, days after dramatic wins at No. 9 Princeton and over No. 2 Cornell.

Defender Mullins sidelined by knee injury

Syracuse defender Brandon Mullins will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury, the men's lacrosse team announced Thursday.

After a season-opening loss to Albany, the Syracuse men's lacrosse team went back to defensive basics in rattling off a two-game win streak over Army and Virginia.

That defense will have to adjust again, barely two weeks later.

A lot of the talk around Syracuse’s men’s lacrosse team before the 2013 season has been about the new additions, specifically a big transfer from the University of North Carolina. Head coach John Desko, though, prefers to focus on returning players from last year.
