Commentary: Senior Michaela Quigley visited 23 companies in Silicon Valley over spring break and received advice from Syracuse University alumni and CEOs.

The CEO of LiveFyre, Jordan Kretchmer, sat waiting to hear my pitch. He was dressed casually in a black sweater with jeans, mimicking the relaxed West Coast work dress code. Despite his casual vibe, I still felt intimidated by his presence, knowing that he founded a company that raised well over 50 million dollars in funds and was acquired by Adobe Systems. I'd prepared for this moment while showering earlier that morning.

People of all ages trickled into Light Work through gusty winds  for a rainy day Zine Swap on Saturday afternoon.

The boys talk fall movies and what it means for the Oscar race, what in the heck was going on with Kanye West and Jimmy Kimmel, and who Esquire crowned as their Sexiest Woman Alive.

This week we go over some fall movies such as 12 Years a Slave, Gravity, and The Wolf of Wall Street and expand on what they mean in the bigger picture Oscar race.

We then re-hash the saga between Kanye West and Jimmy Kimmel, who came out on top, what exactly is going on in Kanye's head, and more.

We finish by discussing Esquire's Sexiest Woman Alive and other beautiful ladies out there.

Victoria Coit and Vanessa Campbell hope to launch "Salt of the Earth," or "S.O.T.E. Magazine," in a full website by the end of 2013.

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its flavor, with what will it be made salty again?” This Bible verse, Matthew 5:13, is what inspired Victoria Coit and cofounder Vanessa Campbell to start Syracuse’s newest online women’s magazine, Salt of the Earth, or S.O.T.E.
