The Orange lost for the first time at home in 46 games in a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Michigan State Spartans.

For the last 46 games, the No. 2 Syracuse (16-4) field hockey team hadn’t lost a game at J.S. Coyne Stadium. But things changed when No. 20 Michigan State (14-9) came to town for the first round of the NCAA tournament. The Spartans ended the Orange’s home win streak in a 2-1 loss for Syracuse Saturday afternoon.

The Orange outshot MSU 21-4, but the Spartans connected on two of its three shots on net, while goalie Molly Cassidy recorded 10 saves.

Syracuse could not score on offense and await its NCAA Tournament seeding.

With just over three minutes remaining, it appeared that No. 2 Syracuse (16-3) had tied up what was a 1-0 North Carolina lead. Jordan Page scored on a drive from outside the circle, but North Carolina appealed. Video review, which was used for the first time in ACC tournament history, showed that the ball was not deflected inside the circle, and the call was reversed.

SU never did overcome the one-goal deficit, and fell to No. 3 North Carolina, 1-0, in ACC field hockey semifinal action.

The Orange scored three unanswered goals to defeat Boston College and move on to play North Carolina.

Three unanswered goals lifted No. 2 Syracuse field hockey over No. 11 Boston College 3-1 in the ACC Championship quarterfinals Thursday afternoon. The win came in the first ever ACC tournament game for the Orange.

The Orange field hockey team continued its early season domination thanks to a late goal.

No. 6 Syracuse (6–0) extended its home winning streak to 38 games on Sunday with a late goal by senior Leonie Geyer that put the Orange ahead 1–0 over Ohio State University with just under five minutes left in the game.

No. 6 Syracuse held on against No. 7 UMass for the 2-1 victory.

The No. 6 Syracuse Orange field hockey team extended its winning streak to five games against with a 2–1 victory over the No. 7 UMass on Friday. In their first game at home this season, the Orange also improved their home winning streak to 37 games.

Junior forward Lauren Brooks scored the first goal of the game on an assist from sophomore Alyssa Manley at the 3:20 mark.  Five games into the season Brooks is leading the team in goals (7) and points (14).

Four different players scored as Syracuse shutouts Michigan State for its third win of the season.

The Syracuse Orange field hockey team earned its third win of the season with a shutout against the Michigan State Spartans 4–0 Friday in East Lansing, Mich.

The Orange (3-0) defense dominated the Spartans (1-3), allowing only one shot on goal out of three total shots. Sophomore goalkeeper Jess Jecko earned her first career shutout with just one save.
