The Great Danes kept it close throughout, but scoring from Treanor helped seal the victory.

In a match-up between two of the top offenses in the country, No. 3 Syracuse (11-1) clinched a 13-11 victory over No.18/17 Albany (9-1) at the Carrier Dome Tuesday night.

“We hung around, we didn’t give up, we took care of finishing the game at the end and that was key. “ Head Coach Gary Gait said. “I think Albany played very inspired and really gave us a tough game.”

Syracuse pulled away late in the first half and extended its lead throughout the contest to push past Northwestern, 11-7.

No. 3 Syracuse (9-1) edged No. 7/8 Northwestern (4-3) 11-7 Sunday afternoon at the Carrier Dome and earned its first victory over the Wildcats in 11 meetings to improve its record to 9-1.

“No matter what players they have on the field they know how to win,” Alyssa Murray said. “I think that’s very telling of our team this year. We were able to dig deep and even though they came out and scored two quick ones on us, we were able to bounce back from that and make a good run on them to close out the game.”

A late comeback by the Orange was not enough to ruin the Terrapins undefeated season.

PHILADELPHIA - The Orange surmounted a rally, a second half comeback, to take its first lead of the game against a tough, undefeated No. 1 Maryland Terrapin squad.

It didn’t last long. Just 100 seconds.
