Syracuse participated in the national campaign Tuesday night, which was co-hosted by 73 different campus groups.

Students and faculty crowded in Hendricks Chapel Tuesday night to participate in Syracuse’s annual Take Back the Night event, which raises awareness about domestic and sexual violence.

The event, which began at 7 p.m., featured speeches, a rally and a march that culminated at the speak-out in Hendricks Chapel, where community members came together to participate in group dialogue about violence and how Syracuse University can work together to eliminate this issue.

The fraternity disbanded in 2010 after originally coming to campus in 2004.

When Ivan Rosales-Robles went through the rush process during his first year at Syracuse University, he didn’t feel like the fraternities were for him. But when Robles heard about Delta Lambda Phi, a social fraternity for gay, bisexual and progressive men, he said he found a great outlet on campus.

“It’s a nice group of people I can go and hang out with, spend time with, and feel comfortable with,” said Robles, the current president of the fraternity.  “And I think that’s a great outlet to have.”

Syracuse University offers a number of one-year Master's degree programs. Undergrad and graduate students alike share their thoughts on how to best experience Syracuse University in that short amount of time.

Syracuse University is known for having a number of Master’s degree programs that can be completed in one year or less. This appeals to many applicants who desire an advanced degree, but who are eager to join the work force, and don’t want to spend years toiling away in a classroom. But for some, there is a downside to these short programs of study. Some graduate students feel that while they are getting an invaluable education, they are missing out on the SU experience.

A strong love for Syracuse and morning wine collided as camera crews for The Today Show filmed live on campus Monday morning. Syracuse University was named a finalist for the "Kathie Lee and Hoda Go Back to College Challenge" and cameras caught the reaction of enthusiastic students decked out in orange.
