For 35 years, Bob Barker has cooked hot dogs in his red food truck, becoming more than just a friendly face, but also a positive force in the community.

Bob Barker may not be internationally known like a similarly named television star, but he is a local legend all the same.

The owner and operator of local restaurant and hot dog stand Bob Barker’s Famous Hot Dogs & Coneys, Barker has been a game day fixture for fans of Syracuse University football and basketball for the past 35 years.

The “Zip Fest” Street Fair was bustling in Syracuse’s Forman Park Sunday in honor of the launch of phase two of the Connective Corridor project. The four-hour block party had a mobile zip line, five food trucks, a massage station and live entertainment, and provided fun attractions for visitors of all ages.

A new startup by recent Syracuse University graduates brings the food truck business back to The Hill.

New Jersey native, Maxwell Woolley, remembers eating greasy submarine sandwiches from the Princeton University Hoagie Haven truck as a kid.

Inspired by his childhood memories, Woolley, 22, graduated from Syracuse University last May with a newspaper journalism and history degree, and opened the Hoagie Haven food truck with business partner, Matt Kardjian.
