What to watch for as the Big East gets set for tip-off at its end-of-the-year tournament at Madison Square Garden.

The Favorite - Syracuse

No one in the Big East combines raw ability with length and athleticism like the Orange do.

The Dark horse - Cincinnati

The Bearcats have the guards to make a run and create mismatches with their small lineup.

Knocked out early - Notre Dame

Had a big win over SU, but ND relies too much on the long ball. If they're not falling the Irish will have a short stay in New York City.

Riding a four game win streak, Syracuse can lock up a double-bye in the upcoming Big East tournament with a win over DePaul Saturday.

The Syracuse Orange will welcome the DePaul Blue Demons into the Carrier Dome Saturday to end the regular season. The Orange (24-6, 11-6) will look to extend their four-game winning streak heading into the Big East tournament.

DePaul used hot shooting from beyond the arc to beat Syracuse Wednesday, 77-61, and hand the Orange only their second home loss of the season.

In a span of eight minutes in the opening half, the Syracuse women’s basketball team went from being down nine points to leading by two. During that time, Orange players pounced on loose balls on the ground, snagged rebounds off the glass and scored from all locations on the floor.

But it was a tale of two halves for Syracuse against No. 10 DePaul Tuesday night at the Carrier Dome. Although they played some of their best basketball on both ends of the court in the opening half, the Blue Demons stormed back in the second half and trumped Syracuse by a score of 77-61.

Syracuse jumps out to best start in school history with comeback win over DePaul

For the second consecutive game, Syracuse spotted its opponent an early double digit lead. And for the second time this week, SU ended up with a victory.

But this time just barely.

On Monday, fabled rival and eleventh-ranked Georgetown invaded the Carrier Dome for a heavyweight showdown. SU fell behind 14-0, but outscored the Hoyas by 31 the rest of the way for a 17-point win.
