An interactive runway experience dazzled the crowd at the Syracuse Fashion Week Gala.
Pushing theatrics to the brink, the Syracuse Fashion Week Gala at The Landmark Theatre on Friday night was a cross-section of styles both on and off the runway.
Syracuse Fashion Week founder and theater maven Lisa Marie Butler gave designers and boutiques the freedom to make their time on the runway an interactive performance for the audience.
The dark downtown night welcomed a sparkling fashion show on Saturday.
More than 200 people gathered to see the chemistry between fashion and art at LSK Modeling and Events Company’s Essence of Art fashion show Saturday night at The Vault.

Students clean out their closets and trade clothes at the Style Lottery Closet Swap.
Students recycled their wardrobes at the Style Lottery Closet Swap on Monday evening.
The closet swap is comparable to the thrifting experience, since the items gathered are gently used clothing, shoes and accessories from event participants. Junior psychology major Tauri Howard is a brand ambassador for Style Lottery, and she was part of the team who organized the event.
“I went with the idea that the swap would be a one-for-one kind of thing, but I ended up leaving with more than I brought in,” Howard said.
Anxious to escape monochrome winter fashion? Neons and bold black and white stripes are around the corner.
If you're like me, you are extremely impatient for warmer weather and sunny skies to start appearing. Along with better weather, I can't wait to ditch my unflattering black parka in exchange for jackets, sandals and t-shirts. It seems as thought the fashion world has heard my pleas for happier clothes, and it has responded by tossing in every bright, intense color imaginable in a storm of pinks, greens, reds and blues, and it's also throwing in some bold black and white stripes to the mix. Welcome to Spring 2013 ladies (and gentlemen, I suppose).
The third annual Syracuse Style fashion show showcased Syracuse's growing fashion scene, and plans to keep getting bigger and better.
Syracuse is not New York City, but that doesn't mean its residents can't have a "fashion's night out." But these days, “fashion's night out” is less about “fashion” and more about the “night out,” and that was the case in Armory Square on Thursday, Sept. 20.
Owner Margaret Partyka talks about her passion for fashion, and what looks are in for the spring and summer.
Let’s be honest. Every girl has an obsession with clothes and accessories, whether they admit it or not. Margaret Partkya has no shame in admitting her love for fashion. In fact, you can see it by the way she dresses up not only herself, but also her store.
Margaret has been the owner of Some Girls Boutique located on Marshall Street for the past three years. The opportunity fell in her lap when the previous owner, Diva DeLoayza passed away.
In order to do your laundry in an environmentally friendly way, you no longer have to beat your clothes on a rock at the nearby creek. Here are some tips on how to save energy and time when washing your clothes:
1) Don’t wash them. This is easy. Wait as long as possible to have a full load, and wear things more than once. Airing out clothes in between wears on the back of a chair or a rack prepares them for the next time you put them on.
