Three Orange players netted hat tricks in a romp over the two-time defending national champions.

After being destroyed in Durham last year, Syracuse exacted its revenge on Sunday by dominating Duke and shutting down arguably the country’s best player, midfielder Myles Jones.

Now the only remaining undefeated team in the country, No. 1 Syracuse (7-0, 2-0 ACC) defeated the two-time defending national champion, 19-7, at the Carrier Dome.

March 21, 2015 - 2:04pm
Billy Joel performed many of his hits at Syracuse University in front of several generations of concertgoers.

Attendees were in a "New York State of Mind" Friday night at Billy Joel’s seventh concert at SU's Carrier Dome.

"New York State of Mind" was just one of the many hits that he played in his set, which was more than two hours long. Joel opened with "A Matter of Trust" and "Pressure" and closed with an encore set that included "It's Still Rock and Roll to Me," "Big Shot," "You May Be Right" and "Only the Good Die Young." Joel also played many of his other classics, such as "Piano Man," "Uptown Girl" and "The Entertainer."

The SU head coach emphasized the cleanliness of his team and expressed displeasure with the NCAA's rulings two weeks ago.

For those who have always thought or wondered, SU men’s basketball coach Jim Boeheim made it abundantly clear Thursday morning.

He does not run Syracuse University, and his time with the program is running out.

During a press conference at the Carrier Dome, Boeheim addressed his intention to file an appeal with the NCAA regarding his nine-game suspension, handed down March 6 following an investigation into multiple violations by the program, as well as the claim that he plans to retire in three seasons.

The "Piano Man" will perform his seventh concert at Syracuse's Carrier Dome Friday, March 20 at 8:00 p.m.

This is an age where artists struggle to stay relevant and the audiences’ attention can fade as fast as a breakout artists’  hit single drops on the Billboard charts.  But some artists that have been around since the '70s can still draw large crowds to venues like the Carrier Dome and Madison Square Garden.  Billy Joel is one of those artists.  What is the difference between him and today’s infamous 'one hit wonders?'

After more than 10 years at the helm, Gross will transition to a new role at SU.

Gross will now serve as vice president and special assistant to the chancellor and an adjunct professor in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics.

A late 7-0 run helps SU cruise to its fifth-straight victory.

On Sunday against Virginia, Syracuse took a commanding lead early in the first half and never looked back.

But against St. John's, the Orange was forced to "storm" back for its victory.

SU ripped off a 7-0 run in the fourth quarter to pull away to a 14-6 win over the Red Storm in Kennesaw, Georgia, on Saturday. Randy Staats scored a team-high five goals, as the Orange erased an early 4-0 deficit to continue its unbeaten streak.

March 5, 2015 - 12:29pm
Rakeem Christmas struggled in his final home game at SU against the top-ranked Cavalier defense.

Syracuse started strong defensively in Monday’s matchup with No. 2 Virginia, but it was the Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season-champion Cavaliers that eventually dominated both ends en route to a 59-47 victory on Syracuse’s senior night at the Carrier Dome.

With the win, the Cavaliers clinched their second-straight ACC regular-season title, becoming the first program other than Duke or North Carolina to do so since North Carolina State in 1974.
