Orange players, fans are frustrated in 14-5 victory as the winless Friars try to kill as much clock possible.

Providence College visited the Orange for Senior Day on Saturday afternoon at the Carrier Dome. The Friars brought a 15-game losing streak that dates back to April 15, 2009 to challenge the nation’s top-ranked team.

Providence’s game plan became obvious to everybody present by the middle of the first quarter: just don’t get blown out. Despite Providence’s best efforts, Syracuse got its offense on track to beat the Friars 14-5.

After the annual spring football game, the Syracuse Orange look ready for the second year of the Marrone Era.

Ryan Nassib may have been the starting quarterback for Syracuse in the annual Spring Game, but he knows all too well that he isn’t guaranteed that spot come fall.

Nassib was named SU’s starter early last spring, but then Greg Paulus arrived forcing him into a backup role. This year he may be competing with sophomore Charley Loeb, who proved he is worthy of a look from head coach Doug Marrone and his staff after Saturday’s Spring Game.

With a number one ranking on the line, Syracuse gets its eighth straight win behind a career performance from Chris Daniello and a strong effort from a stingy defense.

After a thrilling last second win against CNY rival Cornell University on Tuesday night, the Syracuse Men’s Lacrosse Team (10-1, 3-0) looked to stay on track as they got into the meat of the Big East schedule against Rutgers University (5-6, 1-2) on Sunday night at Yurcak Field in Piscataway, N.J.

Syracuse University's eighth annual Relay For Life raises more than $153,000 for cancer research, including $20,000 that night.

The luminarias shone bright green after the lights dimmed in the Carrier Dome. Thousands silently circled the path lit by the small memorials, the only sounds heard from the once rambunctious group being small cries of grief or sighs. Some walked with each other, hand-in-hand or arm-in-arm. Some stopped to sit together by single luminarias made in memory of loved ones. Each could see the words “hope” and “cure” illuminated in the stands.

April 6, 2010 - 7:25pm
With four days left there is still time to participate in Relay for Life

March 26, 2010 - 9:07am
The 2010 NCAA East Regional semifinals took place in the Carrier Dome Thursday night, schools from border state Kentucky and West Virginia advancing to Saturday’s final.

DeMarcus Cousins will not be provoked, not on the basketball court.

A big strong 19-year old playing at the East Regional of the NCAA Tournament, the Kentucky freshman center had his intelligence questioned, his back strained, and his patience tested over the last 24 hours.

Emotions came to a boil with 9 minutes remaining in the first half of a offensively challenged semifinal between the Wildcats and fan favorite Cornell. Cousins snared the rebound of teammates DeAndre Liggins wayward 3-pointer, and knocked to the floor by Cornell center Jeff Foote.
