Despite two players tallying hat tricks, SU comes up short at the Carrier Dome.
Nick Mariano and Brendan Bomberry each tallied a hat trick for the No. 6 Syracuse men’s lacrosse team, but it was David Symmes’ goal that made the difference as Army (3-1) beat the Orange, 14-13 on Saturday afternoon.
“Great game for us, hard fought,” said Army head coach Joe Alberici. “There’s been plenty of games here in recent years that we’ve come up short … just feels good to get one.”
No. 5 SU outshoots Saints in 19-6 victory at the Carrier Dome.
The No. 5 Syracuse men’s lacrosse team won its opening game against Siena, 19-6, on Saturday, getting its season off to a perfect start. Syracuse has opened its season against Siena four years in a row and has won all four times.
The Orange dominated the game and outscored Siena in all four periods. Back in the comfort of the Carrier Dome after a long off-season, Syracuse head coach John Desko was pleased with the way his team performed.
