In a five-page memorandum sent to students and faculty Monday morning, Syverud discussed promotions and tenure, funding community projects and university leadership, among other things.

In the latest of Chancellor Kent Syverud’s emails to Syracuse University students and faculty, the chancellor laid out a series of changes to affect the university in the coming school year and beyond.

“I have taken some time to think about and assess some key areas of focus,” Syverud wrote in the body of the email after noting that Tuesday marks his four-month anniversary as SU Chancellor, “and want to share with you a number of changes that are being made, some new initiatives underway, and other information I think you should know.”

Syracuse University's 11th chancellor announces she will leave once her current contract expires.

In an email sent to SU students and faculty on Friday morning, Chancellor Nancy Cantor announced her exit from Syracuse University at the end of her contract, which expires in June 2014. The Board of Trustees were informed of her decision earlier in the morning, according to her open letter to the SU community.

An internal investigation done in 2005 looking into child molestation allegations against former associate head coach of Syracuse University's men's basketball team was supposedly kept secret from university trustees.

Syracuse University’s four-month internal investigation in 2005 regarding Bobby Davis’s sexual assault allegations against Bernie Fine appears to have been conducted without the knowledge of the school’s Board of Trustees. According to an article in the Syracuse Post-Standard, Bernie Fine never came up in board deliberations.

The NewsHouse attempted to contact several current Board of Trustee members, none of whom were willing to comment.
