SU scores four first half goals as Orange cruises to 5-1 win over Blue Devils.

No. 2 Duke surrendered eight penalty corners to No. 4 Syracuse field hockey in the first half on Friday at J.S. Coyne Stadium. The SU corners led to four unanswered goals in a span of 17 minutes as the Orange pulled away for a 5-1 victory.

Overall, the Blue Devils (10-2, 3-2 ACC) relinquished 10 penalty corners, five of which ended up as goals against. 

Syracuse (11-1, 4-1 ACC) was relentless in the first 35 minutes, dominating play and possession. It managed 11 shots, while Duke managed only two.

Orange scores two goals in second half to remain undefeated in 2016

The top-ranked Syracuse Orange field hockey team scored two goals in the second half of play following a 1-1 tie to edge past No. 18 Boston College on Friday afternoon, 3-1. This was Syracuse's first time playing on its new field, which was upgraded this past summer.

Alyssa Manley's two stroke conversions vault SU to its first national final in program history.

Fourth-seeded Syracuse knocked off Atlantic Coast Conference rival and No. 1-ranked North Carolina 3-2 in a stroke-off, Friday to advance to its first-ever NCAA title game. 

“Speechless,” SU head coach Ange Bradley said. “I want to thank Maryland for hosting the Final Four, and Carolina and the ACC. That was an amazing game for both teams… competitive to the very end, and I’m happy we were able to get the result and advance.”

The junior's fourth game-winning goal of 2014 lifts SU to second-straight overtime win over the Blue Devils.

Duke and Syracuse may no longer have just a basketball rivalry. 

For the second straight season, the No. 10 Orange (11-4, 2-4 Atlantic Coast) took its fellow Atlantic Coast Conference foe to overtime. Once there, Emma Russell scored only 1:04 into the extra session to power SU to a dramatic 2-1 victory over the No. 6 Blue Devils at J.S. Coyne Stadium. The win was the Orange’s fifth in its last six games.

Laura Hurff's three goals lead SU to its third and fourth victories in a row.

No. 13 Syracuse vs. No. 5 Louisville

After being outscored 9-3 through its first three Atlantic Coast Conference games, Syracuse finally found an offensive groove against the Cardinals (10-3, 3-2 ACC).

Freshman Laura Hurff scored a pair of goals to help the Orange (9-3, 1-3 ACC) upset the Cardinals, 3-1, at J.S. Coyne Stadium Saturday.

Kati Nearhouse scores twice in Syracuse debut to lead offense.

Following a victory over Albany on Saturday, No. 5 Syracuse carried a 5-0 record into Sunday’s non-conference finale against Ball State.

The Cardinals also entered the match undefeated, and in order to remain perfect, the Orange needed to ace arguably its toughest test to date.

It did with flying colors.

Both Kati Nearhouse and Lauren Brooks scored a pair of goals as the Orange offense steamrolled to a 5-0 victory at J.S. Coyne Stadium. SU has now started three-consecutive seasons with at least six victories.

The Orange field hockey team continued its early season domination thanks to a late goal.

No. 6 Syracuse (6–0) extended its home winning streak to 38 games on Sunday with a late goal by senior Leonie Geyer that put the Orange ahead 1–0 over Ohio State University with just under five minutes left in the game.
