The Orange never trailed against the defending National Champions, outlasting them 27-24.

When the defending champions came to the Carrier Dome Friday night, Syracuse football was ready.

As families descended on the hill and packed the stadium, fans didn't know what to expect. A week after a 27-24 win against Pittsburgh, many didn't know if they would have similar success against a much more competitive team.

But Syracuse head coach Dino Babers and the other 128 members of his team did.

In front of over 33,000 fans, Syracuse was winning most of the second half.

Eric Dungey threw two touchdown passes and ran one in himself, finishing with a total of 413 yards. Syracuse’s (3-3, 1-1 ACC) defense kept Pitt (2-4, 0-2 ACC) from converting a third down until the fourth quarter, finishing 3-of-13, and the Orange beat the Panthers 27-24 Saturday afternoon at the Carrier Dome.

Syracuse’s win over Pitt is its first in five years. The Panthers were 4-0 against the Orange since both joined the ACC in 2013 and had won 11 of the last 12 meetings between the two.

Syracuse are still looking for their first ACC win of the season.

Syracuse men’s soccer was defeated by North Carolina State 2-1 after an aggressive match at SU Soccer Stadium on Friday night.

SU and NC State started off trying to claim dominance on the field from the beginning. After six minutes of play, NC State was on the board with a goal coming from Julius Duchsherer, after getting the rebound from Aide Taiwo’s shot.

The Syracuse QB finished the game with 279 passing yards and 3 touchdowns.

The Orange trailed 17-10 mid-way through the second quarter. Central Michigan University just executed an A-11 offense play, 91-yard drive to take the lead. Fans aired their frustrations as the team look destined for another devastating defeat in the Carrier Dome.

Then the Orange offense came to life.

Syracuse men's soccer opened its ACC schedule with a 1-1 draw at Virginia following a penalty by Hugo Delhommelle. This was a massive result for Coach Ian McIntyre ahead of their final non-ACC games.

Syracuse University Women's Soccer beat Harvard 1-0 off a Harvard own goal in the 49th minute.

After the shock 1-0 defeat at the hands of Colgate, Syracuse women's soccer wanted to get in another win before its ACC schedule begins. When they welcomed the Harvard Crimson, they wanted to get the win.
That's exactly what happened. In the 49th minute, freshman Kate Hostage put pressure on the Harvard defense, which led to a pass to the Harvard goalkeeper Kat Hess. The ball rolled past her swinging leg, and that ended up being the final result.

Syracuse women's soccer dominated both Cornell and Fairfield in two games, winning 3-0. Kate Donovan scored a brace and Taylor Bennett slotted one home from the penalty spot against the Big Red.

In Sunday afternoon's match, Donovan, Carolin Bader and Sydney Brackett scored against Fairfield in a game Syracuse recorded 12 shots.

The Orange improved to 3-0-1 with the victory while the Wildcats fell to 1-3.
