Syracuse kept its cool down the stretch in a back-and-forth 60-56 win over the Sun Devils in Dayton, Ohio.

DAYTON, Ohio — 'Cardiac Cuse' was the case Wednesday night as Syracuse beat Arizona State 60-56 in the NCAA First Four.

With both schools facing media and fan scrutiny as to whether they deserved a shot at the NCAA tournament, Syracuse held off the Sun Devils with six free throws in the final minute to earn an 11th-seed slot against 6th-seed Texas Christian on Friday.

From the opening tip, both squads wanted to jump out to a quick start and avoid early mistakes.

When Ashley O’Mara took an online application quiz for Jeopardy!, she would have never thought a year later she would appear on the broadcasted show. Right before Thanksgiving break of this year, O’Mara received a call that would change her life; that day, producers from the show called to invite her to Los Angeles to be on the show in mid-December.

This was the Orange's first ACC tournament win in four attempts.

BROOKLYN-It was a total team effort. All starters scored in double digits and the team shot a combined 54.8 percent across the field. Yet, it was the defensive effort that mattered most. Contrary to the last meeting between these teams—when failing to guard the 3-point line cost them the game—Syracuse held Wake Forest to 20.7 percent (6-29 FGA) from beyond the arc tonight.

Defeating Clemson marked SU’s first ranked win of the season.

The Syracuse University Orange (19-12, 8-10 ACC) held its own late in the final game of the regular season, defeating number 18 ranked Clemson 55-52.

Oshae Brissett and Tyus Battle each scored 17 points in a win that the NCAA tournament could use to their advantage for a possible berth.

"We were due for one of these. We play with so much heart, we're always in every game," Battle said.

Syracuse didn't score a field goal in the fourth quarter.

A second-half shooting slump prevented Syracuse from winning its opening ACC tournament game versus Virginia Tech, as the Hokies won 85-70.

In a repeat from Feb. 1 when the Hokies defeated the Orange in the Carrier Dome, both teams were looking to win an opening game and help their potential chance to reach the NCAA tournament. If the Orange were going to win the game, they'd need to hit shots from beyond the arc.

The Spring Spectacular included 19 performances in a range of different styles including hip-hop and contemporary dance.

Syracuse University DanceWorks put on the first of two showings of its 2018 Spring Spectacular showcase in Goldstein Auditorium Friday night.

The performance featured two acts and 19 separate numbers in a range of styles including hip-hop, tap, lyrical and contemporary dance. Founded in 1986, DanceWorks is a fully student-run organization at SU that puts on two showcases throughout the year, among other community performances.

Though church attendance continues to decline, many college students still believe in Jesus.

A tall grandfather clock ticks away beneath the high-ceilinged office in Hendricks Chapel. Reverend Brian Konkol, 38, sits in a leather lounge chair surrounded by a large couch, another chair, coffee table, stacks of paper and boxes of framed art that rest on the floor. Konkol, known for his plaid button-down dress shirts, bowties, large round-framed glasses, jazzy socks, and perfectly combed short brown hair, says the messy state of the room makes it feel like walking into open-heart surgery. But he has an excuse.
