University Union revealed the performers for year-end Carrier Dome concert Sunday night.

You’ll want to stay the night after this year’s Mayfest.

Zedd and 2 Chainz are set to perform at this year’s Block Party, UU announced Sunday evening via Twitter. The announcement crashed the UU website momentarily as word spread on social networks.

Zedd is a Russian-German electronic music producer and DJ, known for his Grammy Award-winning hit single “Clarity.” He recently released “Stay the Night,” a collaboration featuring Hayley Williams of Paramore.

The colorful and critically acclaimed rapper to perform in the second installment of the University Union Bandersnatch Music Series on April 2.

Though April 1 is known for it's own fool, the following evening an all too different sort of prankster will be setting up shop in the Schine Underground.

Danny Brown, the charismatic and spirited rapper from Detroit, Michigan, will be performing on April 2.

Rapper J. Cole will return to SU in March for a performance at the Carrier Dome.

J. Cole is scheduled to return to SU once again.

He will perform in the Carrier Dome on Friday, March 21 at 7:30 p.m. with R&B singer Elle Varner opening.

J. Cole was on campus in December 2010, when he opened for rapper Wiz Khalifa as part of the annual Hope Benefit Concert, sponsored by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.

The Thrillin' Theta Xi chapter of the Phi Beta Sigma fraternity at Syracuse University is sponsoring the concert.

University Union's Bandersnatch Concert Series is slated for March 5th.

It's a new semester which means some fresh new musical performances provided by University Union.

And this semester's first taste of authentic audio is the indie-pop band St. Lucia with special guest ASTR on March 5 at the Schine Underground.

From longtime fans to students who were just looking for something fun to do on a Thursday night, West Coast rapper Dom Kennedy did not disappoint.

Heavy bass, a DJ, lights and a stage were all Dom Kennedy needed to get students jamming at The Underground last night.

Larger than most other performances which traditionally book the intimate, subterranean venue, the small size of The Underground turned out to be a perfect fit for the West Coast rapper to engage the audience.

The best from 2013 in the world of music were honored and made the mediocre painfully stand out.

The Grammys are weird. Like any other music award show, but multiplied by a billion, there’s this understanding that who wins is actually kind of irrelevant, but somehow we still care so much.

This year, if we pretend the nominees to begin with were the right choices (which they largely weren’t), the Grammy winners aren’t totally, offensively wrong, which is pretty much all any music lover can ask for.

This list is meant to count down some of those wonderful holiday tunes that are awful. Now, I must say before any judgment is passed that I love all of these songs; but they are all hideous in their own unique way.

These are the ones that play in the mall while you’re shopping. You know, the ones that you hum along to before realizing what you’re doing. Then you have to look around to make sure no one noticed.

These aren’t Christmas standards by Bing Crosby or Nat King Cole. And while they are catchy and easy to listen to, “The Christmas Song” they are not.

The electronic music DJ will perform with Cashmere Cat on Dec. 4 as the last UU-sponsored show of the semester.

The final University Union-sponsored concert of the semester will come from the Bandersnatch Series. Hudson Mohawke and Cashmere Cat will perform at 8 p.m. on Dec. 4 in the Schine Underground. Tickets are $5 for students and staff/faculty only, and they can be purchased at the Schine Box Office.

The influential musician died today of unknown causes.

Lou Reed, an influential rock musician famous for his time in the Velvet Underground, died today at 71. The official cause of death is still unknown, but the singer had liver surgery in May, according to a Rolling Stone article.
