Syracuse dominates offensively and defensively to defeat the South Florida Bulls, 82-65

It was a one-man game for the University of South Florida in their fight against the Orange on Sunday afternoon in the Carrier Dome. The freshman sensation has a coming-out party with a career-high 27 points.

A tired Oakland Golden Grizzlies team was no match for a fast-paced Orange team led by a career performance from freshman Brandon Triche.

Tuesday night’s matchup with the Rochester, Michigan-based Grizzlies displayed SU’s ability to take advantage of a drained and less talented team.  It was also a coming out party for Triche, who scored a season and career-high 27 points.

Powered by a 14-4 run to open the second half and strong frontcourt play, the Orange win 85-72.

Not even the possibility of a hangover or the taste of warmth in Tampa could spoil the perfect start to the season for the Cuse.

Sunday afternoon’s matchup with St. Francis of New York could have been a classic trap game for Syracuse after its big win over No. 11 Florida on Thursday. But not even the possibility of a hangover or the taste of warmth in Tampa could spoil the perfect start to the season for the Cuse.

Arinze Onuaku scored 10 of his team-high 14 points in the first half, and Wes Johnson opened the second half with back-to-back threes as the Orange overcame a slow start to defeat St. Francis 75-51 in the Carrier Dome.
