The No. 16 Syracuse University women’s lacrosse team continues to look for answers following a 16-11 loss to the No. 2 Northwestern Wildcats Wednesday in Evanston, Ill.

Orange Women's tennis loses two straight on the West Coast, road record now stands at 2-4.

The Syracuse Women’s Tennis team continued its troubles away from home, losing two straight road games to the USC Trojans and the San Diego State Aztecs. The Orange, now 10-4, are just 2-4 away from their home court at Drumlins, where the team is still undefeated.

Syracuse allowed Georgetown to tie the game with five seconds left and send it to overtime, however, the Orange recovered to strike first in overtime and secure the victory.

After a very uneventful first half, Syracuse and Georgetown battled for victory in the final minutes. The Orange (4-0, 0-0) allowed a game-tying goal with only five seconds remaining, then came back to defeat the Hoyas (2-3, 1-1) in sudden death overtime,9-8.

Syracuse is hoping to defeat Connecticut for the second time this season – and preferably in less than six overtime periods – when they take on the Huskies in the Big East tournament semifinals Friday.

Two years ago, Syracuse and UConn played one of the greatest games in NCAA history. The epic six-overtime marathon lasted nearly four hours and carried over into the early hours of the morning. Friday, the Orange will face the Huskies in the Big East tournament once again.

Winners of their last five, the Syracuse Orange are clicking at the right time. SU will look to continue its streak Thursday at 2 p.m. when it takes on the winner of the St. John's - Rutgers game Wednesday.

March is finally here. It’s the second season, when a single game’s outcome can determine if you will be forever cheered or jeered. March is all about the drama: single game eliminations, final possessions, and Christian Laettner-esque buzzer beaters.

Thursday afternoon (2:00 p.m. ESPN) the Orange will be starting their second season in the familiar confines of Madison Square Garden in the quarterfinals of the Big East Men’s Basketball Championship.

Syracuse evened its road record on the season at 2-2 with a sound beating of the Temple Owls Sunday.

Syracuse upped its record to 9-2 Sunday with an impressive road rout of the Temple Owls, 6-1.  The Owls had an impressive home record of 3-1 before falling to the Orange.

The lone Syracuse loss came at the hands of Temple freshman Yana Mavrina at the No. 4 singles in a hard-fought, three-set victory against senior co-captain Christina Tan.

Orange win four out of five, improve to 16-3 after trip to the University of Florida Lipton Invitational.

Syracuse softball ventured to “The Swamp” of Gainesville, Fla. to take part in the University of Florida Lipton Invitational, and the only team gave the girls any trouble was the home team. SU had a successful trip in which it won four out of the five games.

Syracuse jumped out a to a 2-0 lead over Mercyhurst in the Collegiate Hockey Association championship game, but was outscored 5-2 for the remainder of the game as the Orange lost their 14th straight to the Lakers.

The Syracuse women’s hockey team lost a heartbreaker Saturday to No. 4 Mercyhurst in the Collegiate Hockey Association championship game, 5-4.

The Orange started off strong as team captain Stefanie Marty scored a power play goal four minutes into the game. That was followed by another power play goal scored by Margot Scharfe. The Orange carried that two-goal lead into the second period, and that’s when the Lakers’ offense exploded.

Syracuse defeated Niagara 1-0 Friday to advance to the championship game against perennial power Mercyhurst.

The Syracuse women’s ice hockey team did not have to journey very far for this year’s College Hockey America’s playoffs. In fact, they did not have to travel at all.

This year’s CHA Tournament is being held at Tennity Ice Pavilion, the home rink for the Orange. Syracuse looked every bit at home during their semifinal game versus Niagara University Friday night. The Orange overwhelmed Niagara in the first period, scoring the game’s only goal, and defeated the Purple Eagles by a score of 1-0.

Riding a four game win streak, Syracuse can lock up a double-bye in the upcoming Big East tournament with a win over DePaul Saturday.

The Syracuse Orange will welcome the DePaul Blue Demons into the Carrier Dome Saturday to end the regular season. The Orange (24-6, 11-6) will look to extend their four-game winning streak heading into the Big East tournament.
