The War Memorial Arena is usually home to hard-hitting action on the ice, but for one night the mayhem will be between the ropes.

The venue will host WWE Live on Sunday, Nov. 2 at 5 p.m. This is WWE's first stop in Syracuse since May.

"The WWE is the best value in entertainment today," WWE superstar Damien Mizdow told The NewsHouse in an exclusive interview. "You know mostly everyone, from grandma and grandpa all the way down to the kids, has a smile on their face and is having a good time."

SU's defense forces four turnovers, but the offense fails to reach the end zone in a 10-point defeat.

Few people expected Syracuse to handle the pressure of a big-time road game, especially not the team’s first trip to “Death Valley” against the No. 21 Clemson Tigers.

Surrounded by fireworks, balloons and 80,031 screaming Tigers fans, the Orange walked into an electric Memorial Stadium. It was the largest crowd to witness a Syracuse football game since 2009, when the Orange played at Penn State (106,387).

But after a hard-fought 16-6 loss to the Tigers, the mood in the Orange locker room was extremely somber.

The junior's fourth game-winning goal of 2014 lifts SU to second-straight overtime win over the Blue Devils.

Duke and Syracuse may no longer have just a basketball rivalry.

For the second straight season, the No. 10 Orange (11-4, 2-4 Atlantic Coast) took its fellow Atlantic Coast Conference foe to overtime. Once there, Emma Russell scored only 1:04 into the extra session to power SU to a dramatic 2-1 victory over the No. 6 Blue Devils at J.S. Coyne Stadium. The win was the Orange’s fifth in its last six games.

SU musters only one goal in a pair of games against the No. 10-ranked team in the country.

Syracuse entered the weekend with a streak of four-consecutive tie games, but defending national champion Clarkson completely shattered it Friday afternoon.

Led by Genevieve Bannon's hat trick, the Golden Knights dismantled the Orange, 9-0, in Potsdam, N.Y., during the first game of a weekend twinbill.

The two have been key pieces to the Orange's 13-win season.

Two Syracuse soccer players have been recognized among the best in the country.

On Wednesday, TopDrawerSoccer.com included defender Jordan Murrell and goalkeeper Alex Bono on its midseason list of the Top 100 college men's soccer players. Murrell checked in at No. 49, while Bono vaulted all the way to No. 2.

Alseth's first two career goals help SU outlast the Bison.

After 56 minutes of play at SU Soccer Stadium on Tuesday night, No. 5 Syracuse had only mustered a one-goal advantage against Bucknell.

But an unlikely offensive threat soon broke the game open.

Sophomore Oyvind Alseth scored the first two goals of his college tenure in the second half to help the Orange pull away to a 4-1 victory over the Bison. With the win, SU became the first school to reach the 13-victory plateau this season.

SU surrenders four goals in fourth ACC defeat this season.

No. 10 Syracuse (10-4, 1-4 Atlantic Coast) fell to ACC rival and No. 13-ranked Wake Forest (10-5, 3-2 Atlantic Coast) on Saturday 4-2, marking the first loss in five games for the Orange.

Fouls and offensive inefficiency plague the Orange in its second defeat.

In a game that needed overtime to yield a victor, Syracuse fell 2-1 to Atlantic Coast Conference rival Louisville Friday night, snapping an eight-game win streak.

The Orange (12-2-0, 4-2-0 ACC) boasts one of the premier back lines in the nation, having allowed only three goals coming into the contest. Friday, however, marked the first the time team yielded more than two goals this year.

One receiver hits a new milestone, while a new coordinator rejuvenates the SU offense.

Record Breakers

Florida State wide receiver Rashad Greene had six catches against Syracuse on Saturday, but one of them had added significance.

With his fifth catch of the game in the third quarter, Greene set a new school record with 213 career receptions, passing the previous mark set by Ron Sellers in 1968.

Greene has also caught a pass in 35 consecutive games and is only four behind Rodney Smith's program record.
