Yeasayer and Deadelus ready to make Syracuse dance

Indie act will bring danceable brand of synth pop influenced by '80s new wave, and African and Middle Eastern rhythms to the Westcott Theater on Thursday.

Yeasayer is currently touring to drum up support for their third full length release Fragrant World due out August 20.

Chris Keating, Ira Wolf Tuton, and Anand Wilder, the multi-instrumentalists who form the core of Yeasayer, described their upcoming release as science fiction meets soul music, in a recent interview with Under The Radar. While they mention that this album may not have the stand out single that their sophomore effort Odd Blood did, it is difficult to believe that the band would completely ditch their winning combination of polyrhythms, strong harmonizing vocals, processed keyboards and thumping dubstep beats.

Since Yeasayer has been incorporating new tracks into their live set since mid-2011, it is safe to expect many of the new tracks at Thursday’s show.

Opening for Yeasayer is producer/instrumentalist/DJ Daedelus.

Doors open at 7 p.m., tickets are $20 and still available.
