Will Calvin Harris be the headlining act at Juice Jam?

Speculation that the popular DJ and producer will be playing the Sept. 9 concert have been buzzing through social media outlets.

Calvin Harris has been a busy guy lately, and that's not about to change. The DJ/producer's extensive list of tour dates has him traveling worldwide for the next few months without pausing for much of a break.

A few days ago, Harris' official site listed Syracuse University as his destination on Sept. 9 -- the day of Juice Jam, the yearly semester-opening concert put on by University Union.

Rumors of Harris headlining Juice Jam immediately flooded Twitter and Facebook without a response from UU officials. The Syracuse show -- listed on the same day that Harris is playing a festival dubbed (ironically enough) "Block Party" in Canada -- has since been removed from Harris' website.

Feedback to the rumors of Harris as a headliner has been mostly positive based on what's shared on social networks. Harris' recent mainstream success with his track "Feel So Close" has made him an emerging artist in the dance realm.

UU officials have not confirmed any of the acts for this year's Juice Jam, and refused to make any comments about the Harris situation other than remind their Twitter followers that the organization is the "official source" for Juice Jam announcements.

UU public relations director Sarah Fliesher said the organization hopes to officially announce the lineup within coming weeks.
