St. Lucia and special guest ASTR slated to perform in first concert of the semester.

University Union's Bandersnatch Concert Series is slated for March 5th.

It's a new semester which means some fresh new musical performances provided by University Union.

And this semester's first taste of authentic audio is the indie-pop band St. Lucia with special guest ASTR on March 5 at the Schine Underground.

International artists Jean-Philip Grobler, known by his stage name St. Lucia, was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Grobler and his four musical compatriots comprise the band whose sound reflects Grobler's international pop sensibilities. Sounding like a mix of 1980s Brit-Pop mixed with the raging club scene of today, St. Lucia's bright and exotic tones will ring in the spring this March.

Check out the music video for their single "Elevate" below.

Opening act ASTR also hails from the Big Apple, specifically the borough of Manhattan. The indie-electric duo of Zoe and Adam describe their music and artistic sensibilities as being, "informed by cinema noire, Miami Vice and urban dreamscapes." And their music reflects their fascination with the grit and sexuality of the urban mystique.

Doors will open at 7p.m. with the show beginning at 7:30. Tickets will go on sale at the Schine Student Center Box Office starting Tuesday, February 4 at 11a.m. Admission will cost only $5 for all SU and SUNY/ESF students and faculty.
