Men's basketball 2015-16 schedule released

After long delay, the ACC portion of the season schedule was announced Tuesday.

 

The complete 2015-16 Syracuse Men's Basketball schedule was released on Tuesday. The 31-game schedule features 19 home games and 10 games that will be broadcast on ESPN.

 

The team begins its season with two exhibition contests against Le Moyne and Florida Southern on the 2nd and 8th of November, respectively. 

 

On the 13th, Lehigh comes to Syracuse and St. Bonaventure is in the Dome on the 17th.

 

The Orange will then compete in the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament along with Elon, Charlotte, Connecticut, and Michigan. The first game in the tournament will be played on the 21st in the Carrier Dome, and the following three will be held in the Bahamas from the 25th through the 27th. 

 

On December 2nd, the Orange play against Wisconsin, and on the 8th, Colgate. Both will be in the Carrier Dome. 

 

Syracuse will visit Madison Square Garden to face former Big East foe St. John's on Dec. 13. 

 

The non-conference schedule is capped off with home games versus Cornell, Montana State and Texas Southern.  

 

Coach Jim Boeheim will be a spectator of the first nine conference contests, as he was sanctioned by the NCAA for some violations. If the violations are upheld, he'd return on Jan. 30 to face Georgia Tech in the Carrier Dome. 

 

Atlantic Coast Conference play begins the 30th against Pitt. in Pittsburgh (ESPN2). The Orange then continue southbound to visit Coral Gables and the University of Miami on Jan. 2.

 

They return home to face Clemson on the 5th and the Tar Heels of UNC on Jan. 9. Boston College comes to town as well on Jan 13.

 

The Orange are back on the road opposing Duke on the 18th (ESPN), and then play Virginia on Jan. 23.

 

The Notre Dame Irish visit the Carrier Dome on the 28th. Virginia Tech and the Seminoles from Florida State also come to Syracuse on the 2nd and 11th (ESPN) of February, respectively. 

 

The Orange will travel to Chestnut Hill to have a rematch with Boston College on the 14th and then play at Lousiville on Feb. 17 (ESPN).

 

Pitt then comes to the Carrier Dome on Feb. 2 (ESPN) followed by North Carolina State on Feb. 27.

 

Syracuse will go to Chapel Hill in another bout with UNC on the 29th (ESPN), and then close out the regular season against FSU on March 5 (ESPN).

 

Syracuse went 18-13 last season and 9-9 in conference play. Coach Jim Boeheim is heading into his 40th season at helm.
